Yo Gabba Gabba!

This is for my son's second birthday.  It isn't my best work, but I had a lot of fun doing everything that went into this party: the cake, the cupcakes, the desserts and all the decorations.  I was very pressed for time, so the cake is not "great", but in the end it became, "Get it done" rather than "get it done nicely".  I hope you enjoy:

Yo Gabba Gabba Cake
It was designed to have all five characters represented: Plex (yellow), Fuffa (Pink), Brobee (green), Tudee (blue cupcake) and Muno (the red cupcake)

A close up of the yummy chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese frosting

The "inside" of Plex - all the Gabba Friends are represented - the flavor was vanilla
The other two tiers were Red Velvet and Chocolate with whipped chocolate ganache (yum)

And then we had a "dessert" for each character too:
 Cake Balls for Muno

 Rice Krispy Treats for Plex

 Marshmallow Pops for Tudee!

 Chocolate dipped Oreos for Fuffa!

Carmel and Kettle Corn for Brobee!

Now, what is a Yo Gabba Gabba party without Dazzleberry Lemonade :)

And now...just having a soda and contemplating life!  I love him!

Red, Black and White Wedding Cake

This was an incredible challenge.  This was a wedding cake for about 120 people.  I was so tempted to buy silk flowers and put them on, but instead, I taught myself how to make gumpaste roses and was so glad that I did.  I think it turned out pretty nice!

It was a beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple as well -

Bottom Tier: Vanilla Cake with Vanilla Buttercream
Middle Tier: Chocolate cake with fresh strawberries and Vanilla Swiss Meringue Buttercream
Top Tier/Anniversary Cake: Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Here is a closer look at those gumpaste roses!

Disney Princess Cake

For a 5 year old little girls who loves Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella!

The Dolls and Crowns are not edible

A Couple Christmas Cakes

Gift Box Cakes

This cake was for a group of teachers at a local elementary school...it needed to feed 50!

This was for a Ladies' Bible Study
The inside was layered, Red (velvet), White (vanilla) and Green (velvet) - I wish I had a picture of that!
The decorations are fondant and gumpaste

Pirate Cake

I had so much fun with this cake.  They asked me to do a Pirate Ship, but after my Dora cake experience, I decided that I wasn't "sculpting" cakes anymore (or at least not for "these" prices)!

Bottom Tier is White Cake with Vanilla Frosting
Middle Tier is Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
Top Tier is actually a cake (so I did sculpt a little) for the Birtday Boy
All Covered in Fondant with fondant and gumpaste decorations

Dora Cake

I had no idea what I was doing...but I don't think this turned out so bad for my first time sculpting and working with gumpaste and rice krispy treats!

Her head is rice kripy treats

Random Cakes and Getting Started

After the "girl's birthday cake", I got to do a few more cakes for friends...here they are:

Baby Shower Cake (theme was Sunflowers and Butterflies)
(before I learned to dust off the cornstarch before taking pictures)

Dulce de Leche Cupcakes to go with the Shower Cake

A "pumpkin" cake with pumpkin cake inside
Big hit for Halloween and Thanksgiving!

UFC Fight Night Cake

This was actually an anniversary cake - amazing wife, huh?
